Privacy
Folge has no account or backend. Your library and watch history stay on your iPhone.
Last updated August 27, 2026
What stays on your device
Folge stores your library, watch history, and settings on your iPhone. There is no server copy to view or recover.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Backup files remain until you delete them from Files or iCloud Drive.
Backups
Each backup is a readable JSON file containing your history and settings. You decide where to keep it.
If you use iCloud Drive, Apple stores the file in your Apple Account. Folge never receives a copy.
Movie and TV information
When you search or open a title, Folge sends the search term or TMDB identifier to TMDB. TMDB returns titles, artwork, episodes, cast, and streaming availability.
Folge does not attach your history or a Folge account to these requests. JustWatch supplies streaming availability through TMDB.
Website analytics and app diagnostics
The Folge app has no analytics or crash reporting tools from other companies.
The Folge website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure page performance. The beacon uses no cookies and, according to Cloudflare, does not collect visitors’ personal data. Website analytics are not connected to your library or watch history.
If you choose to share diagnostics with developers in iOS, Apple may provide crash reports and anonymous App Store metrics.
